We offer many programs for all age groups. Occasionally we will need volunteers for these events. We also have some larger events throughout the year that we need volunteers for.

Board Applications Are Open

Board applications are currently closed for the 2020-2022 term. 

Board members are fiduciaries who govern the organization and make sure the DSACF has enough resources to advance its mission. Skills that will enhance the board include HR, technology, finance/accounting, investment, sales, fundraising, and strategic planning,

General Nonprofit Board Responsibilities

Planning & Evaluation
Determine mission, philosophy, purpose
Develop organizational and program goals
Evaluate performance of Executive Director
Evaluate performance of Board (self and others)

Finance
Adopt policies for fiscal management
Ensure adequate resources
Adopt organizational budget
Monitor management of resources
Monitor management of property

Human Resources
Develop board membership
Encourage volunteer involvement
Maintain adequate staffing
Adopt personnel policy

Operations
Adopt policy on effective Board and staff management
Assure adherence to all legal requirements
Monitor organizational structure and program

Community Relations
Ensure constituent needs are met
Enhance public image of organization
Market organization, programs and services
Assure cooperative action throughout community

BOARD MEETINGS

The Board of Directors meets the second Tuesday of every other month (June, August, October, December, February, April) from 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. with committee meetings taking place regularly. Additional mandatory meetings may be called for special task forces, strategic planning and/or board training sessions. Board members are required to attend at least 80% of all board meetings and events each year.
