This program will help develop the following:
Children will learn body awareness, balance, muscle strength, coordination, and endurance. Movement patterns will use their entire body and help initiate muscle memory.
Children are learning how to express their emotions and feelings through creative dance and movement. Creative dance and movement can provide an environment for healthy physical and emotional release.
Children in creative dance and movements will work as a group, take turns, form lines, understand space, support one another and interact. They will learn to communicate through movement to express an idea.
Creative dance and movement incorporate neurodevelopmental movements for cognitive development. This includes things like crossing the mid-line, cross pattern marching, and also understanding of a movement as a solution to a real world problem such as “jumping over a puddle” that includes problem solving, imagination, balance, weight transference, space recognition, and more.
