Register at and join us for award-winning author and innovative educator Natalie Hale for a 3-part literacy seminar for parents and professionals teaching reading to learners with Down syndrome of ANY age! Hale, author of “Down Syndrome Parenting 101″ will cover the most effective methods, materials and motivation guidelines, as well as topics like: current best practice, optimal order of learning to read, sight word v. phonemic awareness, teaching non-verbal children, teaching older non-readers, errorless teaching techniques, how to engage motivation, Fast Flash methodology, comprehension tips and guidelines for creating personal books and adapting trade books.

3:15-4:15     How To Create Personal Books and How To Modify Trade Books

Bring: (1) new early reading book on a movie or topic your child loves or bring one of their favorite books from home that you would like to modify to their reading level.

Cost: Only $10 per person, includes materials (except book you bring) and refreshments
